cool cool.

perhaps there's some things out there i can't get here.

if you ever want a growler of Live Oak Hefeweizen, or NXNW, or 512 brews here in Austin, let me know, maybe we can trade up.

besides , beer is meant to be shared.

very worthy domestic hefe.

A little too phenolic at the end, I'd want a smoother finish.. more estery bananas and it'd be in the top 5 worldwide.

Number 2 in U.S. behind Live Oak

Domestic and a Trippel?

I had to try it, if only for the economic reasons.

Most trippels , good ones at least come from belgium.

New Belgium does great for domestics, but if you want a true trippel, your best bet is to get the real stuff.

Not to say this isn't decent, but it's not on par with what I'm used to.

Way too much hoppiness in this Trippel.

Usually there's an estery sweetness that balances the hops well.

If you're buying New Belgium, I can only endorse the Fat Tire and the 1554.

Weekday choice. (Getting older, my liver thanks me)

This root beer is the best.

If too pricey, Hansen's is good too.

Drinking Sierra Nevada Summerfest lager.

Blech.

It reminds me of a beer I had in Korea called Giraf.

Sierra Nevada dissapoints with this one.

I was looking to enjoy a "czech pilsner" but this barely rivals Budweiser. Hell I think I'd rather drink a budweiser.

Pass on this, save your money and buy a lager worthy of you palate.

Will try Brooklyn Brewery or Pilsner Urquell. I always pass by these ones.

I want to give lagers a chance this month.

Have a strange urge for some sushi. Haha.

Pilsner Urquell.

Supposedly the original pilsner.

A much cleaner finish off this pilsner.

A traditional straw color, of course.

Notes of bread, an extremely light feeling beer.

Mildy sweet, which quickly diminishes into a light peppery, lemony bitterness.

Balances well I suppose.

The finish on this is much more crisp and refreshing, but .. it's not my preference.

This is almost asking to be paired with food. That bitterness makes my mouth salivate.

The pilsners are too light and they don't have the presence of a heavier beer with distinct flavors that can be enjoyed by themselves.

I can definitely understand the appeal of pilsners, especially if you are eating, as it's not very overpowering.

Man, I got a hankering for some bratwurst.

Tucked away in a corner of my local beer store, I wiped the dust off of an 8 pack of Little Kings Cream Ale.

The beer was discounted down to the price of a domestic, so I decided to give it a try.

I vaguely remember having a cream ale before although it failed to meet what I thought a cream ale would taste like.

It might have been Lagunitas, not sure.

Head was minimal, pale straw color like a lager.

Smells sweet, I get a very interesting mix of banana/pear and some phenols in the back end.

Taste follows suit, I can taste some mild esters. Alcohol content is a nice 5.5%.

The experience goes like this: A sweet maltiness, a slight twinge of bitterness and the fruity esters in the aftertaste.

Very refreshing.

It's sweeter than I thought it would be.

It's very enjoyable.

I like the 7 oz bottle, it'd be a good idea for the alcohols with a higher content (Belgians, IPAs) to go to a smaller bottle.

Especially if you're looking to enjoy the flavors of the beer and ride a buzz.

Completely recommend this. I have no idea if its a US microbrew or imported.

It looked so neglected, dusty, and marked down, but I'm glad I adopted this "rescue".

Cheers!

picked up a shiner sampler pack the other day.

workin on the kosmos reserve right now. described as "hop-jacked," but is actually just barely hoppy. smooth, easy to drink, light flavor. not terrible, but does't really deliver on it's promise of flavor.
