Haha Shiner.

Yeah Shiner's kinda overrated.

It's a Texas conspiracy. ^_^;

I've given it chances, I suppose it might have been good at one time, but I've tried 3 beers and gave up on it.

The bock is nothing to hoot and holler about, the blonde is meh, and the hefeweizen is a travesty.

I see it being ordered, usually by the same individuals who praise Lone Star Beer and people of their ilk.

If they like it, that's great, but even though it's a texan brewery, it's not tops.

Live Oak and North by Northwest have far superior brewskis, however I'm not sure how far it's distributed

St. Arnold's out of Houston is supposedly good, keep passing by, there's quite the selection.

Real Ale Brewing Company out of Blanco as well. I always see their Rye Ale and their Fireman's Blonde. My guess is that those would be accessible out of state.

A tiny up and coming brewery called (512) is quality too.

That's all I can think of right now, hopefully one of those in the sample come out on top! If so, post, I'd love to know what is worthy.

quad IPA.

IPAs are amazing. but the ac keeps me at bay Sad

Never heard of this company!

41%, holy crap.

82 proof IPA, that's insane.

If you like IPAs, check out Great Divide Brewery.

Their IPAs and Pale Ales are renowned.

And you won't have to take shots of this, great stuff.

Stone IPA is still my shit tho.

nothin in that sampler pack was worth a second shot. i might snag a bock if it's on tap and i'm lookin for somethin simple, but i'm not gonna go out of my way to look for the other varieties. it's like they wanted to go big with the flavors, but held back to satisfy the masses.

Finally tried the Brooklyn Lager.

Incredibly shocked at the amount of hops in this lager.

I thought I was drinking a pale ale.

Very great lager if you're usually left with a 'meh' feeling by your typical domestics.

Maredsous Tripel disappointed. Your good tripels (despite the high alcohol content) will mask the taste with cherry and plum flavors. Your bad ones will taste very stringent and the alcohol is overbearing.

A perfect example of this is La Fin Du Monde, by Unibroue. Our canadian friends do not disappoint. I've had this before and it definitely is always worth the price.

It's a great standard to hold other Tripels by, but there are plenty of others that are up to par.

Right now I'm on a Stone IPA, of course a great standard for IPAs. You'll get the citrusy notes that undercuts the extreme hoppiness that comes with the brew.

Anyone have anything worth drinking, let me know. I'm looking for anything new.

^haven't seen those out here, will give them a try!

Looking for a tripel domestic that won't break the bank like their european cousins?

Golden Monkey is nice, no harsh alcoholic aftertaste, its sweet and smooth.

You won't be getting La Fin Du Monde type quality, but for a 6 pack domestic, its the cheaper solution.

Not bad at all guys.

9.5% abv, be careful with this one.
