How do you wear your suits...

What brands are good and/or should you avoid?

Two buttons, three buttons, double breasted?

What type of knot do you use? Four in hand .. Windsor?

How much sleeve do you show?

Full break or slight break?

Pocket square or no?

Anyone wearing skinny ties? Or stick with mediums?

What about wool ties?

Shoe brands that are respectable?

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm fortunate my job only requires business casual, but I was thinking I might could step my shit up.

What brands are good and/or should you avoid? - not too picky. got a well fitted kenneth cole on sale during veterans day, custom suit made in korea last year. more important that the brand of suit is the fit. poorly fitted armani is going to look like trash compared to a well fitted castoff from goodwill.

Two buttons, three buttons, double breasted? - mine are both two button, usually only button the top button unless i'm taking a picture.

What type of knot do you use? Four in hand .. Windsor? - depends on the tie. i used to be a fan of fat knots, but nowadays i prefer an understated hald windsor

How much sleeve do you show? - i would suggest no more than 2-3 centimeters when your hands are at your sides. you don't want the expose the entire barrel of your cuff when you raise your arms.

Full break or slight break? - slight break when standing straight, back of the leg about an inch below the opening of your shoe. socks match pants then shoe. no exposed leg when you sit down.

Pocket square or no? - yes to pocket squares. simple card style will do. i did a foo-foo fold for a christmas party.

Anyone wearing skinny ties? Or stick with mediums? - thank mad men for resurgence of skinny ties. knit ties are also in. thicker ties are for caporegimes.

What about wool ties?

Shoe brands that are respectable? - i find cole haans to be extremely comfortable, but old fashioned looking. sometimes that is ok.

I've got the Cole Haan Air Carters in brown and black. Yes, they are comfy.

Can't do the skinny ties, I wear a 46R, can't really pull that look off

For dress shirts, I hate the classic fit.

Kenneth Cole Slim Fits and Calvin Klein Slim Fits fit very well as they taper in the torso.

I like some of the Alfani shirts as well.

Express has some nice shirts in different colors, the 1MX brand, but they don't have traditional sizings, so you'll have to take them into alterations..
